Los Angeles Expands Vaccine Eligibility to People 16 and Older
April 13, 2021

A recent story by CBS Los Angeles titled "
City of Los Angeles Expanding Vaccine Eligibility to Those 16 And Older Tuesday" gives more insight regarding what to expect now that the city has expanded vaccine availability.
Reports from the Cal State vaccination site say that the city of Los Angeles will start offering shots of the COVID-19 vaccine to residents 16 and older starting April 13th. While this also entails more vaccine options beyond the Johnson & Johnson shot, people 16 and 17 years old will only be eligible for the Pfizer vaccine and some vaccination sites will remain open only for people 18 and older.
The news has been well received by LA residents and health officials alike. Dr. Suman Radhakrishna, Director of Infectious Disease at Dignity Health California Hospital, stated that such steps are necessary to make more people immune to the disease and prevent a new surge of infections.
People in Los Angeles can start scheduling a vaccine appointment through the city's booking system. With statewide vaccine availability scheduled to include people 16 and older on April 13th, authorities expect the number of available doses to increase in the coming weeks.
